Y5VPN Setup Guide

Create an account → Choose a plan → Get your subscription → Import it into a client → Verify the connection. Follow these steps to get set up, or use the contents below to skip steps you’ve already completed.

Create an account and save your credentials

Open the sign-up page in the user dashboard and choose a username and password for your account. Y5VPN requires no email address; a username and password are all you need to create an account. Choose a username you can recognize and a password you don’t use on other sites. Before submitting, check your entries for an incorrect keyboard layout or extra spaces.

Once you’re done, open the user dashboard and make sure you’re signed in and can see your account overview and plans. Save your username and password in a trusted password manager rather than relying on the page currently open in your browser. You’ll need these credentials on other devices; server and subscription names in the client are not a substitute for your dashboard login.

If you already have an account, use the login link at the top of the page. There’s no need to create another account just to set up a different device. Y5VPN allows unlimited simultaneous devices, and you can use the subscription from the same account on multiple devices. Data usage still counts against your plan. Once you’ve confirmed you can sign in, choose a plan.

Choose a plan and review your order

Open the plans section in the user dashboard. First, distinguish between monthly subscriptions and data packages, then compare the data allowances. Monthly subscriptions suit ongoing use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date, not at the start of the calendar month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days.

If your usage varies, compare the data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Data packages remain valid until used up and never expire. Unlike monthly subscriptions, they don’t reset each month. Compare both the price and usage period, not just the largest data allowance shown. All plans allow unlimited simultaneous devices, so device count doesn’t need to factor into your choice.

Once you’ve chosen a plan, proceed to the order and check the plan name, amount, data allowance, and billing terms before paying as instructed. Payment methods include Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT; follow the options shown on the payment page. After payment, return to the user dashboard and check your order and plan status. If the page hasn’t updated yet, check your existing order rather than placing it again while you wait.

Wait for the plan to show as active before getting your subscription. If the payment result doesn’t match what the dashboard shows, keep your order details and contact support through a dashboard ticket. Don’t share complete payment credentials in public chats. Y5VPN offers a 7-day refund policy; see the Terms of Service for details. You can also compare plan prices and billing terms on the Plans page.

Get your subscription from the dashboard

Return to the account overview in the user dashboard and check your plan status, remaining data, and usage information. Then find the subscription section. The subscription link lets a client retrieve its configuration and server list; it is not your website login URL or an installer. Pasting the marketing homepage or dashboard URL into a client usually won’t load a usable server configuration.

Choose the import option in the dashboard that matches your client. If one-click import is available, click it and allow your browser to open the installed client, then confirm the import in the app. If the client doesn’t open automatically or your system doesn’t support that import method, copy the subscription link and add it manually using the client’s remote subscription option. There’s no need to keep clicking the launch button.

Copy the entire link without deleting query parameters or treating part of it as a note. After pasting it, you can give it a recognizable local name, such as “Y5VPN.” This name only helps identify the configuration; it doesn’t change your plan. Submit the link and wait for the client to retrieve the configuration. Once the server list appears, check that the subscription you just added is selected.

Treat your subscription link like account credentials. Don’t post it in public groups, include it in screenshots, or paste it into unfamiliar online conversion sites. If you need help, share an error screenshot with the link hidden. If you think the link has been exposed, check whether the dashboard offers a reset option or ask support through a ticket. For more on subscription updates and import issues, see the Help Center.

Import a client for your platform

Sign in to the user dashboard and open the client downloads section. Choose the Y5VPN client for your device. Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux users can sign in to get the client without first purchasing a plan; using a valid subscription requires an active plan on your account. iOS availability depends on what the dashboard shows. Get clients from the dashboard; static installer links aren’t provided here.

Installing a client and importing a subscription are separate steps. Installation only puts the connection app on your device; you still need to add a subscription, select a configuration, and enable the connection. For your first setup, use only the client you plan to connect with and temporarily close other proxy tools. This helps avoid conflicts over system proxy settings or network permissions that can make the interface status differ from your actual traffic route.

Windows: Add a configuration or subscription

Choose the Y5VPN desktop client for Windows in the dashboard, install it, and open the main window. Find “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or a similar option, then choose to add a remote configuration by URL. Paste the complete subscription link copied from your account overview and save it. If the client offers both a local file and a remote link, choose the remote link rather than creating an empty local configuration.

Wait for the update to finish and make sure a server list appears under the configuration, then set it as the active configuration. Next, enable the system proxy or connection mode specified in the dashboard guide. Selecting a server without turning on the connection may not route your browser through it. If your system asks for network permissions, verify the request comes from the client you just installed, follow the prompts, then continue to the verification steps below.

macOS: Check the configuration and network permissions

Get the Y5VPN desktop client for macOS from the dashboard, install it, and open it. Go to configuration or subscription management and use an option such as “Import from link” to add your subscription. If you use one-click import from a browser, return to the client and make sure the new configuration appears. A browser notification alone doesn’t confirm that the import is complete.

Select the new configuration and wait for the server list to load, then connect. macOS may ask you to allow a network configuration or authorize a related network feature, depending on the client’s connection method. After granting permission, check the client status. If another proxy tool is running, close it before reconnecting. Avoid changing settings in multiple network tools at once.

Android: Import a subscription and allow the connection

Choose the Y5VPN mobile client for Android in the dashboard, install it, and open it. Go to the subscription or configuration page, choose import by URL, paste the link, save, and update. You can also use a compatible import option provided by the dashboard. In the client, check the subscription name, update result, and server list to make sure you haven’t selected an old configuration saved earlier.

When you select a server and start the connection, Android will usually show a network connection permission prompt. Confirm it’s from the client you’re using, allow the connection, then return to the client to check its status. If you’re using per-app settings, make sure the target app is included. Switch to your browser or target app to test the connection; the connection icon in the status bar alone doesn’t prove that every app is using it.

iOS: Import a configuration using the dashboard

First, check the iOS client option in the user dashboard. iOS client downloads are available to users with a purchased, unexpired plan; availability depends on what the dashboard shows. If the option isn’t available, check your plan status. Get the corresponding iOS client using the dashboard instructions, then use its subscription or configuration import feature. Don’t use installation files for other platforms on iOS.

Tap the compatible one-click import option in the dashboard, or paste the subscription link into the client’s URL import field. Confirm the import and update the configuration, then choose a server and connect. Follow the system prompt to allow adding a VPN configuration. Once confirmed, check the client status and open the target service to test it. If you use split tunneling, make sure the service is routed through the intended server.

Linux: Choose the right version in the dashboard

Linux users can get the matching Y5VPN client from the dashboard and choose a version compatible with their device. The core steps are the same: add a remote subscription, update the configuration, choose a server, and connect. Proxy settings can vary across desktop environments. For network permission or routing issues, first check the dashboard instructions and the Help Center; system-level configuration is outside the scope of this guide.

Get the client

Connect and verify the setup

After importing, make sure the active configuration is the Y5VPN subscription you just added, then choose a server suited to your needs. For content restricted by region, check the server’s exit location first. For everyday browsing or work tools, you can start with a nearby location. Y5VPN covers 110+ countries with 250+ servers, but not every server is suitable for every service. See the server list to compare options.

Once connected, check that the client is running, then use a trusted IP lookup site to check your exit IP and its reported location. Comparing results before and after connecting can help confirm whether traffic is using the expected exit, but an IP lookup alone can’t prove that every app is covered. With split tunneling, different sites and apps may take different routes, and some local services may keep using your regular connection as intended by the rules.

Next, open the specific website or app you want to use and try an actual task, such as loading a page, sending a request, or starting playback. If your browser works but the target app doesn’t, check whether the app is included in the proxy scope and whether it has an existing connection, then reopen it and test again. Streaming and AI tools can also depend on account region, service policies, and how the current exit is identified. The client’s “Connected” status alone doesn’t guarantee they’ll work.

If the connection still isn’t working, narrow down the cause one step at a time. First, check that your local network can access everyday websites. Then check your plan status and remaining data in the dashboard. Update the subscription, confirm the active configuration, and check system permissions. Finally, try another server in the same region. Change one setting at a time and note the results; this makes it easier to identify the cause than changing protocols, rules, and servers all at once.

When contacting support, include your device platform, client name, selected server, error message, and the step where the issue occurred. Hide your subscription link, password, and full payment details in screenshots. Submit your question through dashboard support. If you’re unsure what a button does, check the Help Center before reinstalling the client or resetting your system network settings.

You’ve completed the basic setup. To refresh server information later, update the subscription in your client. To switch devices, repeat the steps to get a client and import your subscription. For protocol differences, direct versus relayed routes, and changes in evening peak-hour performance, see the Technical Guide to Protocols and Server Routes. You can refer to it when needed; there’s no need to study every detail before your first connection.
